Abs Workout Dvd Questions

Turbo Jam or Hip Hop ABs?
I currently have Hip Hop ABs workout DVD. I workout 3 times a week and I do weights. I only have a 4 pack and I still have love handles. Should I try turbo jam? Will I lose weight faster? Maybe hip hop abs is not the workout for me. I have always been fit, but since I had children I have a hard time losing weight. Can someone please help me to find a better workout plan, so I can be fine again?
honestly i have tried hip hop abs and i think it does nothing. try p90x ab ripper = best ab workout i have ever done!
Tracy Anderson Mat Workout DVD – Reached a Plateau?
In this article I thought I would discuss some tips for taking the Tracy Anderson Mat Workout DVD to the next level. I am a fan of the Tracy Anderson method for a couple of reasons.
- It gets results – judging from her celebrity and other happy clients – these are the kind of lean muscles many people aspire to have.
- I also take it as a good sign that the instructor has the kind of slim body that I would want. Often, you find a workout DVD and the instructor is fit and toned but perhaps they have more muscular arms than you would like to have yourself or maybe they have a very firm six-pack and that isn’t what you want. Or, perhaps you want more shapely legs and the instructor has very thin legs with less definition. The point is, although you can’t always go on it – when the instructor has a body you want, it makes the DVD more desirable.
- The work is intense but you aren’t bathed in sweat after you do it so you can run to the store after without a full shower routine.
The Tracy Anderson Mat Workout DVD one of the first DVDs that I wake up wanting to do. It feels like a workout but is invigorating rather than draining- especially the arm portion, which is beloved by many. After a while though, you may start to feel like you’ve hit a plateau – and that is the enemy to the workout. So, I thought I’d share a few ideas to increase the intensity or to get past plateaus.
Add ankle weights
Add small ankle weights during the leg portions. You can use them for the two standing leg series, the floor leg series and the floor ab section.
1 or 1.5 lb ankle weights are best. The Tracy Anderson method is designed to avoid bulking so the last thing you’d want to do is add heavy ankle weights but light weights a couple of days a week would add to the resistance enough to wake things up.
In addition to the obvious benefit of having extra weight bearing against your lifts in the various rotations – I found an added benefit that the weights is keeping the leg rotations more focused and creating an awareness of proper placement.
Add webisodes into your workout
Add in another Tracy Anderson webisode during the DVD. Pre-cue a webisode and have your computer near your workout area to put on when you are ready.
For example, after doing the two arm sequences, and your arms are appropriately exhausted – you can do more. Pause the mat workout and push play on the cued Arm Webisode or Goop Arm Video. Then, without pausing your workout, pick right back up where you left off in the Tracy Anderson Mat Workout DVD. Alternately, you could do the complete arm series twice. You can do the same with the leg webisodes or abs webisodes. Anything that tires out those muscles and changes it up is good.
Perform
Finally, as Tracy Anderson discusses in her cardio DVDs, it makes a lot of difference if you PERFORM the moves as if on stage rather than executing them. The same goes with the Mat workout DVD – do the moves with purpose – point the toes all the way when you are supposed to point. Feel the tips of your fingertips when you place the arms in each position in the arm series. Pretend you are on stage and completing each and every motion counts. No half-hearted action – pretend you are a dancer. When you focus on performing and really completing each repetition, you may notice your heart rate increase and you may feel a stronger burn.
