Ab Roller Reviews Questions

Will the Ab Roller give me abs, if i’m already skinny?

I’m pretty skinny and have a flat stomach. I don’t have to loose any weight on my abdominal area, just need my abs to be more defines.
Most negative review about the Ab Roller, seems to be that it doesn’t help loose weight.
If I don’t have to loose any weight, would the ab roller bring out my abs?
Once again I don’t need that to loose weight or decrease my waist size, just for my abs to be more defines.
Has any one used it?

NO!!

You do not need to waste your money or your time with such a bogus mechanism. I’m not telling you this because I have tried an ab roller, I’m telling you this because I have toned up my abs without buying anything.

If you know how to do it right, you can make your abs much more defined by simple exercises at home, especially since you say you have no fat over your abs. You’re already halfway there.

Try some of these exercises.

1) Simple crunches, if you do them right, will work as a beginner. Put your hands on the back of your head and then slowly lift your upper body up while flexing your abs. Slowly is the key here, make sure you eventually start feeling the burn after several crunches. Don’t make this a big motion, go up halfway to your knees at the most.

2) If you have a flat weight, five or ten pounds, and want to make the crunch a little more complicated, get in the same crunch formation but this time, hold the weight behind your head as your performing the crunch. Don’t let the weight touch your head or you will counter it and the weight will have no effect.

3) Another one that works, especially for the lower abs, is a little different than a crunch. Lie down on the floor, completely flat, don’t bend your knees. Put your hands on the floor, extended toward your feet, to the side, face down. Now put your legs together, so that your feet are touching side by side, but don’t cross them. Slowly lift your legs up, while keeping them straight. Again, this is a small motion, no more than six inches off the ground.

4) The most intense, and one of my favorite requires a little more strength. Lie on the floor and fling your legs up in the air, pointing straight up as far up as you can. Keep your legs up (without holding them with your arms) then bend your upper body toward your knees in a crunch motion, while flexing your abs. Do 25 crunches then on the 25th crunch, stop and hold your upper body in the crunch for 30 seconds.

Also, I like to work out at the gym. But if you want to keep things cheap, you can look in the paper. Every day there are tons of offers on free weekly trials at all the local gyms. You can essentially try a new gym each week without paying a cent. Hope these help and tell me if you don’t understand the directions for those workouts.

Review Summary

The Ab Roller is an inexpensive device similar to many on the market that reduces the strain of abdominal exercises by supporting the upper body. It is inexpensive and most effective for people just beginning an exercise program.

Product at a Glance

The Ab Roller is a simple device that the customer must assemble at home. It is essentially a curved metal piece that attaches to a head rest, allowing the exercises to rock back and forth from a position on the floor. The headrest has a “pro assist spring” that can, optionally, provide a gentle boost.

Product in Focus

The simplicity of design means that this product has only one purpose, to exercise abdominal muscles. Because of the rocking motion and the headrest, there is no strain on the head or neck and thus the abs, and not the neck muscles, perform the work. The rocker system makes repetition simple, and the spring on the headrest can provide an extra boost. It is used while lying on the floor, preferably on a carpeted area or an exercise mat.

Lifestyle

The ease with which one can do crunches on this machine makes it popular with beginning exercisers and those who have allowed themselves to lose their muscle tone. This is an inexpensive machine; a “starter kit” that includes the machine, a diet plan and a workout guide sell online for $19.95 plus shipping and handling, which makes this one of the least expensive machines on the market. Users who have posted about this product are happy with the results, but some point out that it is most useful for beginners and its effectiveness lessens as users become stronger.  The price may be right for one who needs an assist to get their abdominal tone and strength back.

Positives

·    Inexpensive
·    Effective for beginners
·    No extraneous muscle strain
·    Available online

Negatives

·    Must be assembled
·    Can become too easy for experienced exercisers
·    May not benefit most people who exercise regularly

Final Thoughts

As most beginners find out, one of the hazards of doing abdominal crunches is straining the neck and back muscles instead of using the abdominals. The Ab Roller potentially eliminates this problem and may makes abdominal exercises safe and reasonably comfortable, especially for those just beginning a fitness program.  Readers can view the links posted above to see what others have to say about hundreds of fitness products and diet aids that are being sold today.
