Does the Proform Ab Glider work? What about the Ab Circle?
I’m kind of interested in these machines. Do they actually work? I feel like I can’t trust the commercials or even some of the public reviews. Maybe I’ll get better answers here!

I bought the Ab Glider so I can speak for that. Terrible. Hurts the back and does not isolate on the straight-on crunch move. The crunch move your supposed to do to the sides is virtually impossible. I had several friends try it and no way – the video makes it look easy. Don’t buy it. Then, the Ab Circle-like side to side move is sort of fun, but at the extreme left and right position, it is higher up dur to the design, so when you head back the other way, you start out downhill, so there is too much momentum – too easy…not enough “work”. I got it for the Ab Coaster-like crunch but it is extremely disappointing. My health club has an Ab Coaster and I love it. Should’ve gotten that one; went cheap and learned a lesson.

The Proform combines cardio and strength training to create a workout that reaches the entire abdomen.
When used properly and in conjunction with the included instructional DVDs, the Proform can also be used to strengthen the back and arms. The machines comes with two training DVDs featuring Elizabeth Hasselbeck from “The View”, reviewers commented on how much they enjoyed the DVDs and the encouraging words of the host. The Ab Glider also includes an eating guide to help achieve the best results.
According the the Proform website they even guarantee that when used properly and in conjunction with the recommended eating guide the user will lose ten pounds in the first two weeks or their money back. This is a fabulous show of product confidence by the company.
The Proform Ab Glider has received mixed reviews. Some tall users commented that they were unable to use the machine properly because of their size, however other tall users found no problem and were very satisfied with the machine. Another subject of critique was the length of the handlebars. One user was very disappointed with the length and stated that he felt he could not get a create workout because of the length, however another user noted that the handlebars seemed a little short but noted that once he began using the machine with proper form that the length of the handlebars was no longer a problem. Several users did have problems with the digital console, several users received a broken console while many users whose console worked correctly were not at all impressed with it and stated that it could be much better. Overall, the reviews tend more to the positive with many users very happy with the machine. Some of the positive discussions regarded the quick results, easy assembly and space saving design.
